Weisman Kaplan House
Project Description
EHC has partnered with Tuerk House, one of Baltimore's oldest and most effective substance abuse treatment programs, on the expansion and rehablitation of the Weisman-Kaplan House, a halfway house for men in Charles Village. The project entails the expansion of the program through the purchase of an adjacent row house. The three row houses will then be consolidated and fully renovated. The number of men served at the halfway house will increase by 50 percent from 18 to 27.
The Weisman-Kaplan House provides long-term residential substance abuse treatment, transitional housing and a range of wrap-around services that encourage recovery and independence. The target population is men who have been in a Tuerk House treatment program and need transitional housing for a period of six to twelve months while they obtain job skills, secure gainful employment and continue to access the network of services they need to sustain recovery.
