Project Description
Episcopal Housing Corporation is working with the City of Westminster to develop a new homeownership project for moderate income, first time homebuyers. Nine new townhomes will be built on a vacant parcel of land located on Union Street and Pennsylvania Avenue, adjacent to McDaniel College. These homes will be sold to households erarning 80 percent or less of the area median income.

Since 2002, a taskforce of community members, local businesses and City representatives have worked to revitalize the Union Street/Pennsylvania Avenue community. The efforts of the taskforce has resulted in facade improvement grants for local businesses, streetscape improvements, and the completion of a local community center, which hosts a Boys & Girls Club. This homeownership project will further strengthen the neighborhood by providing opportunities for current renters to purchase an affordable home and remain in the community.
