Shriner Court - Union Bridge MD
Project Description
In partnership with the Town of Union Bridge, EHC developed Shriner Court, a 20-unit affordable rental housing project for low-income seniors. Shriner Court is perched on a scenic hilltop at the eastern edge of the Town of Union Bridge in Carroll County.
The project created 10 duplex units designed to complement the town’s Victorian character. Each of the duplexes has two 710 square foot
1-bedroom dwelling units available to seniors with annual incomes as low as $13,600. In addition, Shriner Court has a community building where the residents gather and socialize.
Shriner Court provides much needed affordable rental housing for senior residents of rural Carroll County. Prior to Shriner Court, there were no
options for seniors of moderate means who wished to stay in their
community but who were unable or did not wish to maintain a single-family home.
