Prospect Place

DESCRIPTION

In partnership with United Ministries and Baltimore County, Episcopal Housing renovated the former Nehemiah House emergency shelter into permanent supportive housing for formerly chronically homeless men in 2015. This $2.2MM project also received generous support from the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Foundation, the Abell Foundation, and the France-Merrick Foundation.

The renovation replaced the former shelter’s dormitory-style housing with 12 high-efficiency apartments and, by utilizing a nearby second building, additional administrative office space, a conference room, and a kitchen as well. The residents at Prospect Place receive ongoing case management services.

On its opening date in 2015, Prospect Place was the only facility providing permanent supportive housing for men in Baltimore.
