Sojourner Place at the Falls

DESCRIPTION

Sojourner Place at the Falls marks another partnership between EHC and Health Care for the Homeless. The project will redevelop the historic, prominent Old Town National Bank Building which, combined with new construction in adjoining lots, will create a 117-unit affordable community. 92 of the one- and two-bedroom units will be reserved as Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) for individuals and families leaving homelessness. The other 25 units will be leased to households making 50% or 60% of the Area Median Income.

The location of the project provides a unique opportunity for support services. As the Health Care for the Homeless headquarters is a 3-minute walk away, residents receiving supportive services will be in close proximity to their medical, case management, and therapeutic resources. Other amenities will include a fitness room, computer center, community room, free library, bike storage, and laundry rooms.

In October of 2025, the project was awarded both 9% and 4% Low Income Housing Tax Credit equity as well as Rental Housing Financing Program (RHFP) funds from Maryland’s Department of Housing and Community Development.
